Three years ago, Peter Edgar and Rob Greer, Partners and Co-Founders of Upfield Capital, launched their Vancouver-based real estate investment and asset management firm with a clear mandate: identify the segments of the market that others have overlooked, underwrite with discipline, and hold for the long term.

Their combined credentials provide a strong foundation for that mandate. Peter Edgar brings more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry as founder of Edgar Development and Edgar Management, firms built on a track record of identifying opportunity and creating value across both public and private sector projects. He has cultivated deep relationships with stakeholders at all levels of government and across the development industry. Rob Greer began his real estate career in 2004, rising quickly to become the top investment sales broker in the Vancouver Avison Young office. At Upfield Capital, he leads the firm’s acquisition and asset management strategy.

Together, they have built Upfield Capital on one key principle: move with entrepreneurial speed while applying institutional discipline.

Since launching, the firm has completed six transactions across British Columbia and Alberta, assembling a diversified portfolio spanning industrial, rental housing, and mixed-use assets. Notable holdings include a 206,000 square foot distribution centre in Alberta, purpose-built for Home Depot in 2024 on a 20-year lease, and Cornerstone at Uplands, a 181-unit purpose-built townhome rental community in Edmonton, acquired in partnership with Arrowleaf Real Estate.

These acquisitions reflect the deliberate, thesis-driven thinking both principals bring to capital allocation. “We are stewards of capital and we strive to generate and maximize investor returns,” said Rob Greer.

Peter Edgar said: “Upfield Capital uses low leverage to preserve capital and mitigate risk, with a focus on long-term, accretive cash flow and asset appreciation.”

The firm is backed by a network of high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors aligned for long-term value creation, and both founders are actively building toward scale, with a growing national portfolio and a proven acquisition strategy in hand.
